Teacher, Elementary School Interview

Anonymous Employee

Application

I applied online.   The process took 1 week.   I interviewed at Austin ISD in Jul 2021

Interview

After applying on the main website, I got a few calls. For the first interview, they asked a lot of questions about my teaching experience, philosophy, and what if questions. I ended up interviewing at 4 different schools in the district and the questions were all similar, but not exactly the same. It seemed that they tailored their questions to issues they had previously. Example: one school asked what I would do if I had an issue with something the admin wanted me (or all teachers) to do. What really helped, was after an initial offer that I was not interested in, I asked the HR person who called me what other openings they knew about. They ended up pushing my resume to other principals and that is how I got more interviews.
